barnes and (not really) noble

every year barnes and noble has a holiday book drive to get books to children in need.  sounds like a nice idea, and they will lead you to believe the point is to get books to those children.  they do accomplish that, but what they fail to mention is the huge profit they are making from their book drive.  you see, you have to buy the books from b&n, at full price, in order to donate the books to their book drive.  you cannot bring in books you bought somewhere else (cheaper of course) or even like-new books that you have sitting around your house.  they dont have any interest in that.  their only interest is getting a customer to buy more books.  quite honestly they wouldnt give two shits if you donated the book to their book drive or threw it in the trash on the way out to your car, as long as you bought that extra book or two from them.  they treat the holiday book drive the same way they treat that membership they have, just another thing to pester the customer about to try to make more money.
