progressive: moving forward; advancing, promoting or favoring progress toward better conditions or new policies, ideas, or methods.
among the millions of other things the democrats have to do to win again, theyve got to stop letting the republicans define the language. if you read the above definitions to the american public, im sure a large majority would identify themselves with those principles. if you ask the american public if they are liberal or progressive you will get a resounding "hell no". and thats the democrats own damned fault.
